Syrian Leader Holds Regional Talks Amid Rising Tensions
Al-Sharaa spoke individually with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Meshal al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah, and KDP leader Masoud Barzani, according to reports. During his conversation with the UAE president, al-Sharaa expressed solidarity in the wake of the attacks and reaffirmed Syria’s longstanding position opposing threats to the sovereignty, stability, and security of Arab nations.
Sheikh Mohammed conveyed his deep satisfaction and gratitude for Syria’s support of the UAE and other regional partners in maintaining security and stability.
In discussions with the Kuwaiti Emir, al-Sharaa stressed the need to strengthen joint Arab coordination during the current period and emphasized that dialogue and diplomacy remain key strategies for resolving crises and mitigating risks of further escalation. Al-Sabah expressed appreciation for Syria’s commitment to supporting the security and sovereignty of Kuwait and the wider Arab world.
Al-Sharaa also consulted with KDP leader Masoud Barzani on regional developments. The two leaders assessed current tensions and discussed their potential impact on regional security and stability.
