Syrian Security Forces Deploy to YPG-Held Shuyukh Under Damascus Deal

(MENAFN) Syrian internal security units moved on Monday into the village of Shuyukh, located south of the Ayn al-Arab district, an area previously under the control of the YPG, as part of an agreement reached between Damascus and the group, according to reports.

Security convoys linked to the Interior Ministry entered the village and began establishing positions across the area, marking a new phase in the implementation of the deal.

Reports stated that the deployment in Shuyukh has been completed, with authorities tightening security measures in nearby areas following the forces’ arrival.

Observers in the area also said that a separate humanitarian convoy entered the village at the same time. The aid mission reportedly consisted of two dozen trucks carrying assistance under the banners of several United Nations–affiliated organizations.
